Common people will suffer with the prices of essentials

Up to 200 percent increase within three months

The rising rate of tomato.. Onion is the same way

Cooking gas and petrol prices fuel the fire

High prices | (Special Task Bureau) Hyderabad, August 7 (Namaste Telangana): The prices of essential commodities are burning in the country at a level not seen even during times of war and natural crisis. In the first week of August, the prices of almost all commodities reached their maximum. The recently increased prices of vegetables are showing drops to the common man who is struggling with the increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, cooking gas as well as cooking oil, rice, wheat, cowpea etc. Salaried workers are complaining that thirty-fourth of the salary received on the first day is spent in the first week itself.

200 percent increase in 2 months

Vegetables are also scaring the common man who have been shocked by the rise in prices of cooking oil, rice, wheat and pulses. A kilo of tomato, which is widely used in curries, was available at Rs.20 in May, but now its price has reached Rs.250 per kilo. The prices of green chillies, capsicum, beans and other vegetables are competing with tomato. Prices of ginger, coriander and green peas have doubled. Common people complain that the prices of dry chillies, which have reached Rs.400, bring tears to their eyes before eating. Analysts say that the prices of vegetables and essentials have increased by 10 to 200 percent in the last 3-4 months.

Flips in the future

Experts warn that due to the central government's lack of foresight and miserly policies, there is bound to be price problems for essential commodities in the future. Due to the influence of El Nino, the cultivation of crops in the country has slowed down. In some states, the crops have been severely damaged due to monsoon conditions and in other states due to heavy rains. Reports indicate that this may lead to shortage of food grains. Experts say retail inflation will reach a peak of 5.5 percent by September. Confirming this, it is known that Crisil Market Intelligence has warned that the price of onion may reach Rs. 70 per kg in the coming month.

In the past, even if I got a salary of Rs. 10 thousand per month, after all the expenses, I was left with Rs. 1,500 per month. Now Rs. 25 thousand is coming.. New loan has to be done.

- A private employee's grievance

If you go to the market with a Rs.100 note, you would get a bag full of vegetables in the past. Now even if I take Rs.500... not even half of the bag is full.

– A housewife's concern

Every middle-class creature in the country feels like this. Due to the ill-conceived decisions and unpredictable policies of the BJP government at the centre, the prices of essentials are skyrocketing. During BJP's nine-year rule, the poor and the middle class

People's lives have become burdensome.
